I have been researching mines, miners, mining settlements and mining related research since the early 1990s as well as maintaining the Victorian Mining Accident Index which was started about 25 years ago.  So if your ancestors were involved in gold mining and need some pointers on researching the goldfields of Victoria I can assist you with your research.

For those wondering – yes, this is the Index started by our mate Dave Evans.  I’m sure many of us who have been to VAFHO Expos and Conferences over the years will remember Dave and his wife with fondness.  When health prevented him from attending our events, Dave passed the mantle to Derek.
